I have to respectfully disagree. Although Obama has a slight lead in the polls, I believe as the campaign draws nearer to the election, people will realize what an "empty shirt" Obama is and vote for McCain. I'm not overly impressed with McCain (except for his military record), but I believe he will be best for America. America, despite how it sometimes appears in the news, is a conservative country and I believe a conservative leader is best for it. McClain is not as conservative as I like but at least he picked a very conservative running mate in Palin. Anyway, thats my two cents worth.

Okay Well... I mean after these speeches the polls may lead McCain to win.

The Republican speakers at the convention showed great defense for McCain. They tried to potray McCain as a conservative that has experienced! and they successfully showed Obama as a man who only sat in a senators seat and waited for a chance to gain preseidency.
They also tried to backfire Obama's "true" religion and tried to dehumanize him as another person.

Overall, I truely believe that the only enemy for McCain is his age and status as a civil leader(but not commander in cheif) and Obama had many weakness that are detreimential to a very good lead over McCain. Either way er view it... this election WILL be another close Voting. Phew!

i would also say and mean that obama is a bit overrated by the media after the hype that he kept america from another period of clintonism. he's a young and dynamic politician with a lot of ideas but very limited experience and backed only by some of the dems.
mccain on the other hand will surely be a safe bet to get the us off the current course because his ideals differ quite a bit if compared to G.W.B.
his own history (and i not mean only his impressive military record) is full of progressive stances, advances and ideas. palin was a great pick to win over the rest of the GOP.
guess we will see a nice race with a lot of action but i wouldn't bet on obama winning in the end.

Today, I'm not sure what to say about that speech, but that McCain was flip-flopping a bit and showing that he could indeed prove CHANGE. He also took less advantage of his military status and took more advantage of his office experience in comparison to Obama.

I could clearly see the message that McCain would be elected to office only to get American out of economic problems and security. McCain was not wearing anything flashy or stunning like his VP runner up Sarah P. (aka V.P.I.L.F). She stayed in the background and visible to the audience and media.

All-in all the speech was a success for McCain.
So far if my guesses are right, Obama chance of Presidency: 77% + Big mouth; McCain chance of presidency: 72% + Experience!

Once we'll get closer to polling date....debates will heat up as usual and the candidates will suffer some burns. Now it's only lukewarm, watch it!
McCain, b.t.w. really doesn't need to reflect on his brilliant and exceptional career in the navy's airservice, his career in politics is equally impressive and full of strong points where he had the guts not to go with the flow or mainstream. Truly think that people will realize that he is a weathered man and not anybodies puppet like some other dudes in US-politics (no need to point a finger here i guess )

Have been watching with interest the entire process, from the beginning of the primaries until now. Thank God in heaven that Hilary did't get the naomination. She is without doubt "Satan in a pantsuit"! Moving right along I agree with Chief Bobby, that Obama is an "empty shirt".

John McCain is a good, honest, decent man. A man you can believe when he speaks. A man that knows the value of human life, and will be an effective "Commander-in-Chief". Does his having been a POW give him any special claim to the Presidency? Of course not, but it does give him an abundance of wisdom that all the Obama's, Bidens,Hilary's, and all the left-leaning talking heads cannot begin to fathom. My feeling is that he will win this election, though it will be close, because people will see that he is the "real deal".
There is no fluff there. When he speaks, he speaks from the heart. He is not reviewing in his head the talking points his handlers give him.

Neither Obama, nor Biden have any executive experience. Twenty years does give a Naval Officer quite an opportunity to be an executive. From what I have seen, neither Obama nor Biden has ever had a real job. The study of law, though honorable, does not make one honorable. Working at a law firm is a far cry from being on a flight deck, or combat for that matter.

Today, maybe because of "political correctness"(barf), Obama seems to be the media darling. The next two months will show clearly his weaknesses. Even then he will still be the wonder boy, however I believe our Medal of Honor winner John McCain will prevail in the end.

I totally agree and hope that it happens that way. I sure hate to think of this country with Obama at the helm. I'm not totally sure he isn't tied to terroists in some way or the other (but I do hope I'm wrong about that). McCain picked a good conservative running mate that will bring the republican base back and McClain seems to be trying to woo the independents. So hopefully he will be able to pull of a victory against Obama.

I believe McCain is far better suited to run the United States of America. Obama speaks of change and the only change I will see is the little bit he will leave us in our pockets after all the taxes increases are established. I enjoy watching the nation wanting to get involved with the Elections it is great But the people need to remember why we are electing the most powerful man or woman in the world, this should not be a popularity contest this person will be directly responsible for all Americans Reublican or Democrat! The people need to ask what is really best for our country a larger gov't or smaller gov't. A can do attitude or that will do attitude. I look at our Democratic Congress and they have a lower approval rating than G.W. Bush, they have failed at almost every promise they made ( except raising minimum wage which in turn small businesses had to cut back on hiring or letting people go ) Right now America does not need change they need improvements. McCain would be the best thing for this country!!
