North Seymour is an extraordinary place for breeding birds. It is home to one of the largest colony of magnificent frigate birds in the Galapagos and blue-footed boobies. South Plaza Island. South Plaza is home to the beautiful succulent Sesuvium, which changes from bright green in the rainy season to red, orange, and purple during the dry season, and the landscape is dotted with prickly pear cactus trees.

Point Lobos State Natural Reserve

Point Lobos State Natural Reserve has been called "the greatest meeting of land and sea in the world" and "the crown jewel of the state park system." It has diving unmatched on the California coast, great hiking, and wildlife well-suited for painting or photography. In the winter, migrating gray whales are visible from the shore. Point Lobos State Natural Reserve is located on the central coast of California. Its entrance is on California Highway 1 about 3 miles south of Carmel-by-the-Sea, 125 miles south of San Francisco, and 325 miles north of Los Angeles. Monterey is the largest nearby city.

Octopus shoots ink at camera!

Snorkeling in relatively shallow water, I spotted this octopus gliding quickly over some seagrass. As soon as I turned its way, it immediately took cover in the grass which it used very well to disguise itself. I approached it very slowly when it finally decided to release a cloud of black ink my way and use its siphon to make a quick getaway.

Bad Marienberg, im schönen Westerwald, da wurde als erstes Beo, der sprechende Beo Jojo besucht. Weiter ging der Rundgang zu den Wildschweinen, zu den Rothirschen, zum Damwild, zum Sikawild, zu den Soayschafen, zu den Alpakas, zu den Lamas, zu den Hausschafen, zu den Wisenten und zum Schluss ging es noch in den Streichelzoo zu den Ziegen. Auf großer Tour rund um Monschau

Rund um Monschau ging los im Zentrum. Von da aus ging es hoch hinaus zum Eifelsteig, mit Blick auf die Ruine Haller, auf das Zentrum Monschau mit dem Roten Haus, der Evangelischen Stadtkirche Monschau, weiteren schönen Häusern und der Burg Monschau. Nach dem ich Monschau über den Eifelsteig verlassen habe, ging es vorbei an der Kappelle an der Sonntagsley, an einer unbekannten Quelle, an der Teufelsley, am Perlenbachsee, an der Historischen Sägemühle. Am Fluss Rur ging es zurück nach Monschau. In Monschau bin ich wieder am Ausgangspunkt im Zentrum angekommen.
